Resolution “Literature of Jehovah's Witnesses”
For many decades Jehovah God has used the publications of the Watchtower Society for the purpose of helping His people to learn new truths from the Word of God, to understand the prophetic dramas, and to maintain strength and encouragement for Kingdom preaching activities, united in a common understanding of the people throughout the earth.
A special source of study, explanation, and understanding of the Scriptures since 1879 has been the Watchtower Magazine. In the past few years, by the grace of Jehovah God, we have gained access to all original literature for all years of the Tower of Watchtower Society's publication of Bibles and Pamphlets in English, as well as all Tower of Watchtower magazines from 1950-1962 in Ukrainian.
For several years we researched publications from the forties, fifties, and sixties and realized that the decision to recognize and accept pre-1962 literature, which was made by the brethren decades ago, required deep scrutiny.
The responsible ministers met more than once and discussed the matter, asking for understanding and clarification from Jehovah God in common prayer.
Various words, expressions, and whole articles were weighed, and the thoughts of the Society's publications in the literature of the fifties and sixties were carefully checked and deeply examined and compared with the Scriptures and with the literature of the thirties and forties. It was then necessary to reconsider our position on the literature after the fifties, as it contained teachings inconsistent with the Holy Scriptures and previous Jehovah's Witness literature.
